Dear IACMI Community,

As we approach the New Year, we would like to express our gratitude for your continued support and engagement with IACMI during 2022. It’s been a busy and eventful year with some transitions, new opportunities and notable achievements.

CONVENE.

In addition to a dynamic and successful IACMI Members Meeting in Salt Lake City in June, IACMI was actively engaged at other industry events, including JEC World in Paris, SAMPE in Charlotte, SPE ACCE in Detroit, IMTS in Chicago, Global Clean Energy Action Forum in Pittsburgh, CAMX in Anaheim, and Composites World Carbon Fiber in Greenville. These multiple opportunities to network with our members and help them form relationships with each other keep the composites community vibrant.

Be sure to mark your calendars for June 20-22, 2023, and join us in Knoxville, Tenn., for the Summer 2023 IACMI Members Meeting. More details to come soon!

CONNECT.

Our five Working Groups continue to grow and deliver results. These valuable gatherings of supply chain members are open only to IACMI members. With multiple meetings in 2022, these groups are making significant progress in addressing hurdles and opportunities in the following areas: Future Mobility/Vehicles Technology, High Rate Aerostructures Fabrication, Wind Energy, Infrastructure and Construction, and Recycling and Circular Economy.

CATALYZE.

This year, we funded new industry-driven projects through our IACMI Consortium Resource Pool that will advance, utilize, and demonstrate emerging technologies. These new projects – and future projects – are made possible because of the unparalleled IACMI network which has led to quantifiable results.

Our workforce development activities have grown immensely in scope and diversity. IACMI is seen by the Departments of Energy and Defense as a leader in creating and scaling up national workforce training experiences in advanced manufacturing. We will expand workforce initiatives like America’s Cutting Edge in 2023 – and beyond – as American manufacturing is undergoing a historic boom.

IACMI is working to attain renewed long-term funding from DOE for the purposes of furthering development of clean energy applications in renewables, transportation, hydrogen and other markets. We anticipate this funding will become available mid-2023.

We look forward to welcoming Dr. Chad Duty as IACMI CEO in the first quarter of 2023. Chad and I, as well as the entire IACMI team, are excited to work with you to make 2023 a year of continued impact for your company and the industry. We appreciate your ongoing support of IACMI and look forward to collaborating as a collective voice to accelerate the adoption of advanced composites and growing a skilled workforce.

Best wishes for the upcoming holiday season,
