We are excited to announce that planning for the IACMI’s Summer 2022 Members Meeting is in full swing. The three-day event will be held in Salt Lake City June 28-30 at the Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel.
“We are looking forward to convening IACMI members in Salt Lake City for a premier composites event,” said Dale Brosius, IACMI CCO and Executive Director of the IACMI Consortium Council. "Utah has a rich composites heritage and vibrant industry footprint."
Brosius said the June meeting will connect industry leaders from major OEMs, small to medium sized companies, national laboratories, government agencies and academic institutions. A powerful lineup of influential speakers, tours of local industry facilities and a not to be missed networking reception will highlight the event. IACMI’s Working Groups will also hold meetings in connection to the Members Meeting, focusing on market-driven themes and advanced technology.

Hicham Ghossein elected to serve as IACMI
Consortium Council's SME Representative 2
We are pleased to announce Endeavor Composites CEO, President, and Founder Hicham Ghossein has been elected to serve a two-year term on the IACMI Consortium Council. Hicham replaces Norplex-Micarta Sales Director Dustin Davis as Small/Medium Enterprise (SME) Representative 2.
"I am honored to be joining the IACMI Council and look forward to representing my fellow SME members across the country and serving the great leadership that IACMI has in place,” Hicham said.
Elections were held throughout the month of January, giving IACMI Consortium Council members an opportunity to both nominate and ultimately vote for those representatives to serve on the IACMI Consortium Council.
"IACMI would like to thank all those who participated in this year's Consortium elections, as we appreciate your leadership and engagement within our IACMI peer community," said Dale Brosius, IACMI Executive Director. “We are grateful to Dustin Davis for his service to our Council and for the outstanding contributions he has made to IACMI, and we welcome Hicham Ghossein to represent our SME community.”

New regional collaboration in Texas
to create robust talent development strategy
IACMI staff traveled to Bryan/College Station, Texas in January to meet with Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station faculty and staff to discuss a regional collaboration to develop a robust talent development strategy aligned with industry's current needs as well as the future.
IACMI CEO John Hopkins, IACMI Project Director Erin Brophy, IACMI Workforce Director Joannie Harmon, and IACMI Workforce and Community Development Manager Tyler Blevins were in attendance alongside University of Tennessee, Knoxville Professor and ORNL Joint Faculty Dr. Tony Schmitz.

IACMI members, partners gain access to Spinning Carbide Line
IACMI - The Composites Institute has recently acquired spinning carbide line technology.
The equipment is configured for batch process melt spinning of high performance polymers such as preceramic polymers for production of Silicon Carbide fibers.
Located at the Auxiliary Services Building along Stephenson Drive at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus, this technology can benefit multiple industries and applications including defense and hypersonics, high temperature, aerospace, UAVs, drones and high performance automotive.

Apply now for Spark Cleantech Accelerator!
Applications are now open for the University of Tennessee Research Park Spark Innovation Center's Cleantech Accelerator.
The goal of the accelerator is to support early stage cleantech businesses and drive commercialization of their technologies in Tennessee and throughout the Midwest.
Eligible companies should be able to demonstrate a positive impact to energy efficiency, generate renewable energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, or increase recycling/upcycling and a circular economy.
