Nominations for IACMI Consortium Council Members Coming Soon
IACMI Consortium Members will soon be asked to nominate representatives to serve on the IACMI Consortium Council. The Council oversees the activities of the IACMI Consortium and helps select IACMI projects and programs. Nominations will be accepted for Small/Medium Enterprise (SME) companies and Workforce Development organizations. One representative will be elected from each category.
IACMI members eligible to submit nominations will receive an email with complete instructions on Dec. 8, 2023, with nominations due by Jan. 5, 2024.

IACMI-DoD Manufacturing Workforce Initiative Celebrates Major Milestone, Surpasses 7,000 Online Regs
On Dec. 7, 2020, University of Tennessee professor Tony Schmitz took a bold step in helping revitalize U.S. manufacturing. That’s the day he launched America’s Cutting Edge’s (ACE) successful online program. Now, on Dec. 7, 2023, over 7,000 people have taken the next step in their careers by registering for ACE online, while over 700 have attended in-person bootcamps.

This meeting is intended for everyone who is interested in discussing how FRP composites can be used to lower CO2 emissions in Infrastructure and Construction applications.
Quarterly I&C Working Group meeting

1:00 to 3:00 pm EST
The meeting agenda will include presentations on the use of recycled material in trim and siding products, energy-efficient modular composite cladding panels, the Morgan County Bridge projects, and updates on funding opportunities.
I&C Working Group members will receive meeting invitations including links for the meetings.

DOE Launches a Circular Economy Prize to Fortify Supply Chains for the American Sustainable Goods Economy
The U.S. Department of Energy announced the launch of its newest clean energy prize, the ‘Re-X Before Recycling’ Prize. This three-phase prize will award a total of $4.5 million in cash prizes and $1.1 million in national laboratory analysis consultation and technical assistance to teams that develop innovative ways to extend the lifetimes of products or parts via re-using, repairing, refurbishing, remanufacturing, or repurposing (“Re-X”) before recycling.

IACMI is making plans to be in Nashville Dec. 11-14 for the Defense Manufacturing Conference 2023: Manufacturing Innovation: Propelling the Joint Force. In addition to supporting IACMI members participating in the event, IACMI’s workforce team will be meeting with Defense Department officials. IACMI cultivates best-in-industry workforce development programs that scale up and connect regional programs to meet the national manufacturing agenda and address skills gaps and workforce shortages, including America’s Cutting Edge (ACE) and Metallurgical Engineering Trades Apprenticeship & Learning (METAL). Make plans to visit us at Booth 118.
