Innovation Insights webinar to feature

Michelman, Owens Corning and Purdue University speakers

Our monthly webinar series "Innovation Insights" continues, as IACMI Chief Commercialization Officer Dale Brosius will moderate discussions on recent technology advancements that industry may not be fully aware of.

Register Here!

On Monday, March 21 at 12PM ET, join us for a one-hour series of presentations from IACMI members and partners, where they will provide background on new technology, products, and the key advantages provided, as well as application examples.

In our next episode you will hear from:

  • Steve Bassetti, Global Marketing Director, Michelman
    • Updates on Fiber Sizing - Preparing for Next Generation Thermoplastic Composite Growth
      • As the composite industry continues to grow, applications are becoming more demanding and all aspects of performance require innovation. One area that is becoming increasingly important is the interface between the fibers and polymers. The chemistry of sizing and surface treatments applied to the fiber play a critical role in the composite performing to an optimal level. Michelman has been serving this need for many years and we will provide insight into our latest capabilities and efforts to meet the emerging industry needs.

  • Dave Hartman, Senior Principal Scientist, Chair Senior Technology Leadership, Owens Corning
    • Owens Corning Material Innovation for Infrastructure
      • Sustainable materials and manufacturing innovation are core to Owens Corning in markets served with building and composite materials. Secular trends such as investment in infrastructure bring opportunity for growth. Collaboration in concrete reinforcement or substitution with more sustainable material solutions needs our leadership in the construction and infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Eduardo Barocio, Director of the Composites Additive Manufacturing and Simulation Consortium, Purdue University
    • LSAM Research Laboratory at Purdue
      • The LSAM research laboratory at Purdue features a Thermwood LSAM printer and the corresponding 5-axis router to finish parts after printing. Paired with the LSAM lab capabilities, the characterization equipment, and the state-of-the-art predictive simulation tools developed at the composites manufacturing and simulation center at Purdue offer a unique ecosystem for material, process, and product development. This presentation will showcase an example of first-time-right printing enabled through ADDITIVE3D and validated against a part printed in the LSAM system. ADDITIVE3D is a validated physics-based simulation workflow for additive manufacturing.

Join us during your lunch break for these engaging presentations.
